Sheffield FC celebrates historical birthday following the opening of new Ecclesall Road mural

After commissioning a new mural last month, Tuesday 24th October saw The Club celebrate their 166-year anniversary since being founded.
The club commissioned Luke Horton Art to create a mural on Snuff Mill Lane which pays homage to the strong footballing roots of the city.
In a video posted to his Instagram, Mr Horton said: “The mural encompasses all things Sheffield – it’s the home of football.”
As well as depicting Sheffield FC’s badge, it also features references to the city’s other major clubs, Sheffield Wednesday and United.
It also includes other staple features of Sheffield life, such as Henderson’s relish and The Leadmill.
Chairman Richard Tims said: "We are so happy with what Luke has done - it's a real statement for the city.
"Ecclesall Road is one of the busiest roads in Sheffield, so the location is perfect."
