Sheffield FC is the world’s first football club, with a proud history and a strong commitment to player welfare, performance and development. We are seeking a reliable and committed Part-Time Matchday Physiotherapist to support our First Team across the season.


Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries for First Team players, primarily on matchdays and selected training sessions. This role is ideal for a motivated sports physiotherapist looking to gain or continue experience within a competitive non-league football environment.


Key Responsibilities

    •    Provide pitch-side injury assessment and immediate treatment on matchdays

    •    Deliver pre-match preparation and post-match recovery support

    •    Manage injury treatment, rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols

    •    Implement injury prevention strategies and monitor player wellbeing

    •    Attend Saturday and Tuesday fixtures, including travel to away games

    •    Communicate effectively with management regarding player availability and fitness

    •    Maintain accurate medical and treatment records

    •    Support warm-ups and cool-downs as required


Desirable / Additional Responsibilities

    •    Ability to deliver or support strength and conditioning programmes

    •    Experience with load management, injury prevention and performance support

    •    Supporting rehabilitation-based gym or pitch sessions where appropriate


Essential Requirements

    •    Degree or qualification in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy

    •    HCPC registration (or equivalent professional registration)

    •    Current First Aid in Football (FAIF) or willingness to obtain

    •    Experience working in sport, ideally football

    •    Availability for Saturday and midweek (Tuesday) fixtures

    •    Willingness to travel with the team to away matches

    •    Strong communication skills and a professional, team-first attitude


Desirable Skills & Experience

    •    Strength and Conditioning qualification or practical experience

    •    Previous experience in semi-professional or non-league football

    •    Knowledge of football-specific injury demands
