Sheffield's losing run came to an end on Saturday, as they twice fought back from behind to grab a point against the odds, battling to a 3-3 draw against promotion chasing Stockton Town. The Anchors slammed two goals in under a minute in the first half, before goals from Nathan Modest and Marc Newsham tied things up, however the hosts regained the lead in the second half only for Ben Turner to snatch a dramatic leveller just before the end.

It was a lively start to the game, with Stockton having a stiff breeze at their backs, and it was the hosts that made the first effort, with Kevin Hayes' effort going straight at Ryan Musselwhite. Club weren't shy going forward either, with Ben Turner going close with an effort, following a one-two with Marc Newsham.

The hosts were the ones looking most threatening, and Hayes was fancying his chances from anywhere, with the winger hitting three efforts from distance which were all close. On 23 minutes the deadlock was broken, Hayes turning provider with a right-footed cross that was parried out by the keeper, with Mike Roberts the first to the ball to stab home.

Within 60 seconds it was 2-0, Liam Cooke cutting in from the right-hand side of the box, teeing up Lewis King with a tap in from close range. Straight from the restart Club pulled one back, great work from James Baxendale and Marc Newsham caused a nightmare in the Stockton box, with Nathan Modest finishing with a fierce shot.

A crazy five minutes was rounded off with a Sheffield equaliser, Manny Kianga and James Baxendale breaking out with a swift mode, with Marc Newsham punching the ball home with a fine header.

The second half saw Stockton press from the get go, however they were met by some stiff resistance from the visitors, with keeper Musselwhite impressing with a few good saves. There was nothing he could do on the hour though, as a corner from the right wasn't dealt with by the Sheffield defence, with Shane Henry the man on the spot to steer home the loose ball to make it 3-2.

It looked as if the home side would go on to make the score even more convincing, however they couldn't capitalise on their pressure, as Musselwhite denied Owens with an outstanding save, with Hayes, and Owens each having two chances that were squandered.

That wastefulness came to haunt Stockton two minutes from time, as Rory Coleman sent a dangerous free-kick into the box, Damo Magee nodded it back across the goal, with Ben Turner stooping to head the ball into the net to silence the home crowd and give the World's First an unlikely point on the road.
