Stocksbridge Park Steels took the derby day spoils on Saturday, as they overcame an injury hit Sheffield FC with a 2-1 victory, at a wet and chilly Bracken Moor Stadium.

Club’s preparations were hampered by emergency changes in the warm-up, forcing the management team to submit an unprecedented three alterations to the official teamsheet, as further injuries and absences causing unnecessary disturbances to their plans.

Steels took full advantage of the situation, taking the lead on three minutes, as ex-Clubbie Luke Rawson capitalised on a defensive error to stab the ball past Edd Hall.
The game evened out somewhat, with both sides having chances to add to the scoreline, Cameron Johnson going close for the visitors and Alex O’Connor for the hosts.

Stocksbridge grabbed a vital second goal fifteen minutes from time, Tomas Poole delivering a corner to the middle of the box, with Alex Ogelsby directing a downward header through the crowded area and into the net.
