MATCH REPORT: SHEFFIELD FC VS LOUGHBOROUGH STUDENTS

  • 08/09/2024

Loughborough Students did enough to progress in the FA Trophy, overcoming a weary looking Sheffield FC team, at a grim and drizzly Dronfield.

The Students dominated the first period, with Club keeper Myles Wright denying efforts from Joshua Strouts and Quinton Zolani Dlodlo, whilst Richard Allen headed just wide.
The visitors broke through on 38 minutes as Michael Gilpin curled an excellent shot that left Wright with no chance.

The hosts pushed in the second half, Stephen Brogan pulled a chance inches wide, with Luke Aldrich heading at keeper Steven Bessent.

Club peppered the Loughborough goal late on, with Jack Watson missing the target on four occasions, and Loughborough able to hold on to win the tie.
