- 26/03/2025

Sheffield FC fell to a 2-0 defeat to Dunston UTS at The Home of Football.
The game started in a tepid manner, with either side managing to notch a significant effort in the early stages, but the game livened up after the 10 minute mark.
Sheffield FC were finding a rhythm down the right flank with Chaz Stanniland and Sam Greenhouse combining, but Dunston also had their own share of chances predominantly through David Robinson and JJ O’Donnell, the latter of which notched the first shot on target of the game, but his headed effort was saved comfortably by Mikey Roxburgh in-between the sticks for The Club.
Very few chances materialised after O’Donnell’s shot on goal, and the sides went in to the break level.
Into the second stanza, Dunston came out fighting and got their noses in front after 55 minutes on the clock after O’Donnell knock a sumptuous cross into Sheffield’s box, and Jude Swailes headed past Roxburgh to give the visitors the lead.
Dunston were well into their groove now, and they found themselves with a two-goal cushion just minutes later as Dale Pearson slotted his effort into the bottom corner, with O’Donnell notching yet another assist.
Club threatened in the later stages as Luke Mangham went close to halving the deficit with a well-hit shot that narrowly went past the post. Rory Coleman also created a chance after he sent an inviting cross into the box but no Sheffield player could connect.
Sheffield continued to show intent late on, but it did not materialise into goalscoring product, and the game finished 2-0 to Dunston.
