Match Preview: SFC Women vs Wolves
- 10/04/2022
Sheffield FC Women travel to the CKW Stadium to face Wolverhampton Wanderers Women FC. The game kicks off at 2pm.
The World’s First Club’s played the reverse fixture two games ago and in this game, Sheffield lost out 5-0 last time out two weeks ago. Sheffield had a good performance and were unfortunate to concede as many goals as they did.
Sheffield FC’s top goal scorer in the FAWNL is Yasmin Mason with four goals. Mason has joined Huddersfield Town and this was announced before the last game against West Bromwich Albion. Nicole Kemp has three goals. AbbygayleHodkin, Brooke Smith and Molly Waite have one goal each.
Sheffield played West Brom in their last tie and lost 2-0 with two first half goals. Graham Abercrombie praised the team’s performance: “If it was possible, I thought we were 200% better in the second half but of course, we can only be 100% better so we were 100% better I think in our mentality and physicality.
“I thought we mentally got ourselves back in the game and we had a good chat at half time. I’m not saying that the chat did the trick because the players still have to go out there and do the work but I think we just accepted a few things and understood that the game wasn’t beyond us at 2-0.”
