United in Uniqueness

We are part of the world’s oldest football club but we’re far from traditional. We are a team of individuals and we celebrate the right to be different. Every player is guaranteed game time, regardless of ability or disability - participation, inclusion and fun is our drive, not results.

About the club

Sheffield FC Disability was formed in the summer of 2015. We started out with a small number of children 6 years ago and this has grown organically to over 50 juniors and adults currently registered and regularly attending training every Monday night at the Olympic Legacy Park in Don Valley. Our juniors U12 and U16 play in the Sheffield & District Junior League and our adults play in the South Yorkshire Ability Counts League and the Sheffield & Hallamshire Flourish League.

Our players have a range of conditions but they all thoroughly enjoy playing football, and we love supporting them develop as players and as people. Current player conditions include ADHD, Amputee, Asthma, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Deaf, Dyspraxia, Epilepsy, Learning Difficulties and Tourettes.

As an all-inclusive football club, our aim is to further develop and enable more children and adults with special needs to play football. We feel a large proportion of our registered players have benefitted from playing regular football - both physically, mentally and socially.

We also welcome children and adults who’d prefer not to enter competitive games but simply would like to play football at our training sessions.
