Update From The Manager:

Ryan Cresswell - Sheffield F.C

Since my last notes, we have had two games. The first was a very good team performance against Ossett United, although not a game with many chances, we certainly edged the better opportunities against a side challenging for the play-off positions. So, although disappointed not to win, the performance was pleasing.

Our trip to Pickering last Saturday was not at the level we have come to expect as a group, some basic errors cost us in the game, and to lose 4-1 in such an important game was a setback, but football is full of these setbacks and we have had a good response in training this week as we have prepared for today’s visitors. Also, thank you to the fans who made the trip to Pickering last Saturday, your support of the lads is greatly appreciated.

I am delighted that we have secured the services of Sam Ackroyd from Worksop Town and he made an immediate impact at Pickering with a performance full of energy and he took his goal very well. Along with Jack Birks who has settled into the side well, we have two players that will work hard for our club. Today’s opponents are fighting down near the bottom with us so the three points today would go a long way. No game against Pontefract Collieries is easy and we need to be at our best to achieve a positive result. As always, your support of the lads makes a big difference.
