Goals from Sami Brooks and Millie Fugler saw Sheffield FC see off Lincoln City 2-0 to progress into the FAWNL Plate Second round.

On a wet and humid day in Lincolnshire, the hosts went closest, Ella Thompson-Moulding forcing Leah Kellogg into a smart save from a corner.

Caitlyn Douglas made her first start of the season and came closest on the half-hour mark. Amy Pashley laid a pass to Douglas who saw her shot tipped over by Lana Timson.

Into the second half, Sheffield edged in front. Sami Brooks picked up a loose ball and chipped Timson from twenty yards out to grab her first goal of the season.

The hosts almost grabbed an equaliser, a corner by Maddi Green was headed by Thompson-Moulding was cleared off the line by Pip Cassidy.

Sheffield would seal the game ten minutes later. A free kick by Amy Pashley was glanced home by Millie Fugler for her second goal of the season.

Sheffield would hold on for their first win since the start of April, with a league game against Leafield Athletic to come on Sunday.
