Sheffield FC Women are pleased to welcome a new member of staff onto the team for the forthcoming season, as Charlie Walden takes up the post of Media Officer.
Charlie is currently studying for a Level Three qualification in Journalism at Sheffield College.
A keen Chesterfield FC supporter, Charlie is the founder of SpireMedia, a web-based media company dedicated to the Spireites which has gone on to interview high profile names like Gary Neville, Reiss Nelson and Martin Allen.
Charlie’s main duties will be managing Sheffield FC Women’s social media channels, as well as producing content for the Club’s website and match day programme.
“Charlie is a very welcome addition to the women’s section here at Sheffield FC,” said General Manager, Helen Mitchell.
“It’s great to be able to have someone dedicated to this important role, and I know Charlie’s got a great deal to offer. With the confirmation in the past few days about the move towards competitive football again, it’s the perfect time for him to come on board.”
And Charlie can’t wait to get started: “I’m really excited to be taking the role of Media Officer at Sheffield FC Women. It’s a Club with great ambition, and when the role was offered to me, it was really a no brainer.”
“I cannot wait to start working with the players and manager (Graham Abercrombie) who I know very well and is a great guy. I’d like to express my thanks to him and General Manager, Helen Mitchell, for the opportunity and welcome I’ve received.”
