Sheffield FC suffered a shock home defeat on Saturday, as they lost 4-3 at home to bottom of the table Market Drayton Town, in what has now become a traditional goal-fest.
It was a hectic opening and Sheffield took an early lead on 8 minutes, when poor defence allowed Marc Newsham to rise above everyone to head home, following a deep corner.
Market Drayton levelled just two minutes later, with Christoph Yao-Aziamale stabbing home after a goalmouth scramble, following Club’s inability to clear the ball.
Club regained the lead on 12 minutes, again the corner causing the problems, and Rian McLean having a free header to make it 2-1.
Two minutes later it was 2-2, Christoph Yao-Aziamale allowed space on the edge of the artea, curling his shot into the corner of the net.
After the crazy start to the game things settled, Matt Ballard made a fine save to deny Michael Williams, whilst Jonathan Hedge pulled off a fine stop to deny Louis Henman-Mason.
On 41 minutes the visitors took the lead, Stuart Ludlam tripped Louis Henman-Mason in the box, with Christoph Yao-Aziamale stepping up to net his third.
The second half failed to provide any inspiration from the ghosts, and Hedge pulled off another save to deny Joe Thomas extending the lead, whilst rarely threatening at the other end.
It was 4-2 midway through the second half, Rob Darkin fouling Louis Henman-Mason, with Joe Thomas converting the spot kick.
Club created a lifeline with 15 to go, Marc Newsham and Alex Wonham creating an easy chance, giving substitute James Gregory a tap in.
Sheffield’s task was made all the harder, when on 76 minutes Michael Williams was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle on Tyrell McFarlane.
Despite the man disadvantage, Sheffield raced on for an equaliser with Gregory going inches wide, whilst Newsham was denied by an incredible save from Ballard who somehow tipped a close range header onto the post.
