Sheffield FC went on a scoring rampage on Tuesday evening, as they ran six past managerless Frickley Athletic, catapulting them up into fourth in the table.

Leading the way was Mitchell Dunne who grabbed a hat-trick, followed by Marc Newsham who bagged himself a double, and centre-back Brad Beatson scoring his first of the season.

It was the perfect start for Sheffield as they took the lead inside 60 seconds, Mitchell Dunne breaching the defence on the left, whipping in a cross that was tapped over the line from inches out by poacher supreme Marc Newsham.

A shell-shocked Frickley tried to respond, going close from a Jacob Hazel free-kick, with Rieves Boocock seeing one shot miss the target and another thwarted by Jonathan Hedge.

Club though looked like they had the ability to score at will, and when a long run from Jordan Chapell tore the visiting defence to shreds only to shoot straight at Tom Jackson, the warning signs were there for all to see.
The second eventually came on 22 minutes, again Dunne finding space on the left, taking a couple of touches before fizzing a rasping shot into the top corner.

In first half injury time Sheffield put the game beyond reach, as firstly Dunne got behind the away defence to coolly tuck one under the keeper to make it 3-0, and seconds later it was 4-0 as Newsham got on the end of a poorly cleared Karl Demidh cross to tap in.

The second half was more of a tame affair with the game already won, but how Karl Demidh didn’t make it five left everyone scratching their heads, as he failed to cap and outstanding performance with a goal, with one effort hitting both posts and rolling across the line without going in.

Half way through the second half the fifth goal came, Demidh again tormenting the defence with some quick-footed trickery, with the ball ending up with Dunne who tucked it under the keeper for his hat-trick.

To rub salt in the already sore wounds Frickley ended the game with ten men as Todd Jordan saw sent off for a second yellow card, and from the resulting free-kick, Brad Beatson rose at the back post to nod home an emphatic sixth goal.
