Club’s impressive league record continued on Saturday, as they marched into third spot, coming away from Nanpantan with a 4-1 victory over Loughborough Dynamo.

Dynamo’s tormentor in chief was ex-player Karl Demidh, who turned in a fantastic performance by scoring one and having a hand in the other three, with Mitchell Dunne adding to his ever growing catalogue of goals and Ehsan Mohammed coming from the bench to score twice in the last 20 minutes.

It was Demidh who had the first shot of the game, a curling effort that looked to be going inside the far post, only to be denied by a spectacular tip round the post by Jason Alexander.

At the other end Dynamo wasted a golden chance to take the lead, as Ryan Robins’ shot was parried by Dylan Parkin, only to see Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson head over with the goal at his mercy.

At this point it was a tight contest, however when Fortnam-Tomlinson was set through on goal with just Parkin to beat, the striker’s choice to simulate contact was not only punished by a yellow card, it also ended his afternoon with injury.
It was during the break for the Loughborough man’s treatment that gave Sheffield the impetus to take control, an impromptu rallying call from Manager Gavin Smith helped regain focus, and almost immediately the tide changed in Sheffield’s favour.
Adam Chapman showed great strength to hold off Ryan Robins to deliver a cross into the middle, Marc Newsham roe to head the ball, again being denied by a good save from Alexander.

The goal came five minutes before the break when Karl Demidh was hauled down on the edge of the Dynamo box, Michael Williams’ free-kick blasted into the wall, with Demidh smashing the rebound in from the edge of the area.
Sheffield’s dominance continued after the break and the should have extended their lead, after Williams put an excellent ball into the middle, with Newsham volleying over from close range.

That second eventually came on 72 minutes, a ball from the back picked out Demidh who powered down the right to deliver the perfect cross to the back post, and making an immediate impact having entered the field two minutes earlier was Ehsan Mohammed who dispatched a ruthless header beyond Alexander.

It should have been three moments later, Mohammed and Demidh combined to set Mitchell Dunne up with an open goal, only for the in-form striker to shoot over the top.

Club were punished as the home side went immediately down the other end and pulled one back; Alex Steadman beat a lazy lunging challenge to make time and space on the byline, tapping across the goal for Will Norcross to tap in.
Sheffield nerves were settled in the last minute as they added a third, again the combination of Demidh and Mohammed saw the substitute fire a cross along the six-yard box, with Dunne making sure this time with a cool finish.

The score was given a more emphatic look seconds later as once more Demidh tormented the home defence, his cross wasn’t handled by the hosts, and Mohammed brought the ball down with his back to the goal before turning to stroke the ball beyond Alexander.
