LEAGUE REORGANISATION ANNOUNCED FOR 2019-20

20/05/2019

On Sunday (19th May) the Football Association announced the provisional Club Allocations to the National League System for 2019-20.

As expected, the 40 Clubs competing in the Northern Premier League at Step 4 have been allocated between a North-West Division and a South-East Division in which Sheffield FC will play.

As it stands, subject to clubs appealing against their allocations, there will be several changes in the league make up this coming season. Of last year's 20 clubs in the EvoStik East, only 11 clubs will be retained in the new South-East Division.

For the new season we welcome back several clubs who were allocated to the EvoStik West last season and will look forward to meeting again our friends at Chasetown FC, Kidsgrove Athletic, Leek Town, Market Drayton Town and Newcastle Town.

Also joining our division will be Glossop North End (also from EvoStik West) and Sutton Coldfield Town who transfer from Southern League Central Division 1.

We will compete against two promoted clubs – a re-formed Ilkeston Town have won promotion from the Midland League and have been allocated to our division and we can look forward to two more local derby games now that Worksop Town FC have secured the Northern Counties East League title and re-join the EvoStik League after a few years’ absence.

We will lose some friends - play-off opponents Brighouse Town will join Pontefract Collieries, Ossett United, Marske, Pickering Town and Tadcaster Albion in the North-West division.

Here is the EvoStik South-East Division for 2019-20 as currently proposed:

·        Belper Town

·        Carlton Town

·        Chasetown

·        Cleethorpes Town

·        Frickley Athletic

·        Glossop North End

·        Ilkeston Town

·        Kidsgrove Athletic

·        Leek Town

·        Lincoln United

·        Loughborough Dynamo

·        Market Drayton Town

·        Newcastle Town

·        Sheffield

·        Spalding United

·        Stamford

·        Stocksbridge Park Steels

·        Sutton Coldfield Town

·        Wisbech Town

·        Worksop Town

We are sure that the division will be as competitive and as entertaining as last season and manager Gavin Smith and his team have been working very hard putting together a squad who we hope will help us maintain and with luck improve upon the standards set last time.
