Sheffield Edged Out By Title Chasing Huddersfield Town

Sheffield FC suffered their third loss on the bounce, after a closely contested 3-2 loss to high-flying Huddersfield Town at the Home of Football stadium.

In spite of going ahead early on through Milly Wortley, goals from Brittany Sanderson, Katie Nutter and an unfortunate own goal saw the Terriers run out eventual winners.

Holly Housley’s coolly dispatched penalty past Laura Carter couldn’t quite inspire a comeback, counting only as a consolation goal in the end, although Ellie Hawcroft could've snatched a point for Club at the death.

There was also a red card late on. Referee Melissa Burgin giving Town substitute Shauna Legge her marching orders for a reckless tackle on Megan Tinsley.
