Shaw Brings in New Signings

Mark Shaw has been busy looking to strengthen the first team squad in recent days, and we are pleased to announce that midfielders Cecil Nyoni and Adam Chapman have agreed to join the World's first, with striker Tyler Williams making the move from Goole AFC and defender Julian Lawrence joining from Rainworth.

Mark said of the signings; “the squad has gone through a major transformation over the last month leading to many players joining the club. Cecil Nyoni has been a target of mine for many years, he fits the DNA of the type of play we want at the club, he is athletic, competitive and very good on the ball. He will add major strength to the team.” Nyoni was most recently at Shaw Lane, and previously at Kettering Town and Harrogate Town.

Chapman is a major coup having spent time at Boston United, Gainsborough Trinity and Mansfield Town. "I have known Adam Chapman since he was at Sheffield United. I have admired the way he plays football, a player who gives his all, works hard and has a great passing range. Two years ago, Adam was playing for Mansfield Town in League Two and has a lot of football league experience making over 150 league appearances."

Williams was one of former manager Mark Hume's summer targets, but he joined Buxton before switching to Goole. "Tyler Williams came to Worksop Town when I managed there and just wasn’t ready for the first team coming from Sheffield United’s youth team. He has gone out there and worked hard and has grown as a player. He’s quick, skilful and scores goals and I’m excited to have him with us."

Lawrence has played under Shaw at Worksop Town having also featured at Frickley Athletic and Stocksbridge Park Steels. He is well known for being a very vocal and lively defender, and is far from shy when it comes to going forward.

Also joining Club this week is Ben Ledger, a 19-year-old keeper; "Ben has joined the club to provide cover for Laurence Bilboe, he is a former Scunthorpe United youth team player who has returned to football following a few weeks of training with the club."

Leaving Club is popular midfielder Derry Robson, who is re-joining Goole AFC, we'd like to thank Derry for his time at Sheffield FC and wish him luck going forward.
