Newsham and Warhurst return for Club
Mens First Team manager Gavin Smith has made another two exciting additions to the squad for the new season. Former Rotherham United, Boston United and Matlock Town striker Marc Newsham has agreed to join The Club 13 years after making appearances on loan whilst on professional terms with the Millers. Marc scored 110 goals in 209 appearances for Boston United before joining EvoStik Premier Division Matlock Town two seasons ago.
Gavin Smith said that he was delighted that Marc had agreed to join us: “Marc is a striker with a real pedigree and a proven scorer. I’m sure he is going to be a real fans favourite here at Dronfield”
Hugo Warhurst has also agreed to put pen to paper on a deal with Sheffield FC. The young goal-keeper impressed in his recent short spell on loan from Sheffield United having very quickly got used to the demands of EvoStik league football in another successful loan spell at Frickley Athletic.
Gavin Smith said he was very pleased to have signed Hugo: “He’s got what it takes to go a lot further in the game and for a young lad has the confidence and presence that any team at this level needs in a ‘keeper.”
