Housley: "Teamwork is the Key"

Sheffield enjoyed a significantly improved league performance last Sunday which earned them a 5-0 victory away at Bradford City.

Team captain Holly Housley opened the scoring late in the first half, with Milly Wortley and Jen Pearson also netting before the interval.  Lisa Giampalma scored a fourth on the hour mark, before Housley bagged her second of the afternoon from the spot moments later.

Two-goal Housley, who was also voted player of the match by Sheffield's opponents, knows that Club need more of the same going into the business end of the season.

"Its been a tough season, but winning games is always a great feeling, and when every player contributes to that its even better.  That team performance last Sunday will hopefully put us in good stead going forward."

"It's a great feeling to get back to winning ways," admitted the full-back. "Although I never doubted our ability, it has given us that belief as a unit, and hopefully we can go on and finish the season strongly."

Sheffield have just six league matches remaining to get the points on the board they need to try to ensure their safety at Tier 3 this season.

"We hope we can finish the season strongly," said Housley. "We've set our targets and we'll do everything we can on and off the pitch to achieve them together."

"I know that if we work hard together, we're capable of achieving and even exceeding those targets, but only as long as we work as a team, with each other and for each other, and we did that excellently at Bradford."

The ladies first team have a tough trip this coming Sunday to Stoke City who have won their last six league matches.  Kick off is 2pm at Norton United FC.
