A Fond Farewell From Jas
As Sheffield FC come to terms with the exit of First Team Manager James Colliver, The World's First feel it is apt to publish the resignation letter received - one that shows the mutual respect Jas and the Club hold for each other.
"Dear Mr Chairman,
I’m writing to formally confirm my resignation as Sheffield FC 1st team Manager which will be effective after today’s (Saturday's) final game of the season.
I have been honoured to have been entrusted with such a prestigious role within the World’s Oldest Football Club and I feel I’m leaving the club in a good place and ready to maintain the progress that has been made over the past 14 months.
It is with a heavy but a proud heart that I leave my role, and would particularly like to thank yourself along with Bill Towning and Chris Dolby for the help and support you have given me and my management team and to all the volunteers and supporters of this great club I send a big thank you for the support you have given me and the group of players that proudly wear the shirt.
I have made great friendships during my tenure many of which will be friends for life such is the respect I have for those involved in the club.
I will always be a “Clubbie” and will always be proud of the fact that I have managed your club , but the time is right for me to move on, I wish the club and everyone associated with it every success in the future as it celebrates its 160th year in 2017"
Cheers Jas - class to the end!
