BVB Legends play at Home of Football SUNDAY

This coming Sunday 8 July 2018 the official Borussia Dortmund legends team - the Traditionsmannschaft - a team made up of greats of the past twenty five years World cup winners, European champions and winners of the Bundesliga and Champions league players who have inspired football fans all over the football are coming for the very first time to the UK to play a friendly football match, the opponents will be a football team made up of Borussia Dortmund fans from across the UK led by the official fan club in the capital Borussia Dortmund Fan Club London.

The match will be contested at a special venue, the 2000 capacity Home of Football stadium, home of the world's oldest football club Sheffield FC - founded in 1857 Sheffield FC is the oldest football club in the world and this year celebrates its 160th anniversary. Sheffield FC who's first team play in the Northern Premier League South, the sixth tier of English football, were awarded FIFA's centennial order of Merit in 2014 and already hosted a Borussia Dortmund fan 11 in 2014 including former BVB player, known to many for his incredible goal for the 3-1 lead against Juventus in the 1997 Champions league final current head of youth academy Lars Ricken. 

The match will be an opportunity for UK based fans of world-class football club Borussia Dortmund, arguably every English football fan's second team, to see some of their favourite players reunited for this special fixture. 

Although the line-up of the Dortmund team is not yet confirmed players in Borussia Dortmund's legends team squad include Dortmund and Liverpool legend Karl-Heinz Riedle, Champions league winner with Dortmund and BVB fan favourite Stefan Chapusiat, current Borussia Dortmund assistant coach formerly of AC Fiorentina and Dortmund Joerg Heinrich, Michael Rummenigge of Bayern and Dortmund fame and many other amazing Borussia players.

The Fan club team is made up of fan clubs from across the UK and are all enthusiastic and longstanding fans of Borussia Dortmund who between them have travelled many thousands of miles over the years to watch their favourite team in Germany and across the world. The match against the official legends team represents for them a unique once in a lifetime occasion to play in a football match with their heroes for which most until now have only ever seen from the terraces. 

Borussia Dortmund's club motto is Echte Liebe - true love and the legends match is all about sharing this unique club famous for being one of the most fan-friendly clubs in professional football with the fans. After the match the players will be available for a meet and greet and autograph signing for UK fans for which a limited number of tickets will be available on the day.
