Brownie Points the way towards an international future
Young Sheffield FC starlet Alex Brown has been selected for the England C contingency squad for the fixture against Ireland Amateur International XI on Sunday 27th May 2018 at the Whitehall Stadium in Dublin, chosen by Manager Paul Fairclough.
The England C squad is selected from players aged 23 and under who play for clubs in the National League System including players from Dagenham & Redbridge, Kidderminster Harriers, Leyton Orient, Woking, Chester, Darlington, Salford City and Sutton United amongst others.
19 year old Alex will join the contingency squad on stand-by for call-up in the event of any withdrawals, and is understandably exited by the prospect of pulling on the national jersey; " It’s great for the both me personally to have hard work rewarded, and the Club for getting the recognition it deserves. I can only thank everyone at Sheffield FC for giving me the opportunity and play games to achieve this".
Foundation Director - and Alex's manager for the last two months of the season - Chris Dolby told us; "Alex is a young talented player who has real potential, and must listen and learn about the game if he wants to maximise his potential. We as a Club want to help develop young players, whilst at the same time moving our Club forward".
Congratulations Brownie, from all at The World's First.
