First Team vs. Farsley Celtic (0 : 3)

FA Cup

Farsley Celtic cruised to the second qualifying round at a rainy Dronfield, beating an injury hit Sheffield side with ease 3-0.

Sheffield who were without ten first teamers, had no answer to a Celtic side that had not conceded a goal all season. The Celts took the lead in the 18th minute and never looked back, as Paul Walker weaved a mazy run through a static defence, threading the ball to James Walshaw who timed his run to perfection to stab the ball under Chris Butt.

Farsley made it two five minutes into the second half, as substitute Stuart Ludlam brought down Walker in the box, giving Walshaw the job of putting the spot-kick away.

The game was wrapped up in the 83rd minute, Richard Marshall beating the offside trap, squaring the ball to man-of-the-match Lewis Nightingale who tapped home from five yards out.
